My posted comments about the above video interview of Art Berman by Rachel Donald of Planet Critical:
I agree with much of the shared criticism of Berman's unconditional cynicism, specifically his implicit denial of any prospects for developing timely alternatives to corporate oligarchy - as if its ominous consequences are unavoidable and inevitable. Instead, I am inspired by the work of Nate Hagens and his notion of The Great Simplification, which encourages collaborative human intervention to prevent self-destruction - "bending without breaking" civilization, as Nate puts it. It seems clear to me that Berman is forfeiting creative options for revitalizing the human prospect, conceding horrible outcomes without advocating a moral imperative to prevent them. As we've been saying for years, in resolute rebuttal to aggressively obsolete industrialization, we must do everything possible to Make Earth Great Again!
